This time of year is about giving and helping those in need, and City West Water is supporting our community in a number of ways.

Staff donate to Footscray St Vinnies Soup Van

Every day of the year, a group of dedicated volunteers go out to Footscray and the inner west to distribute food to people who need it – the Footscray St Vinnies Soup Van.

The work of community groups like this demonstrate the big heart and spirit of the West. This year, City West Water staff made a donation of food for the Footscray St. Vinnies Soup Van to support those in the local area around head-office.

Lina is President of the Footscray St. Vinnies Soup Van and accepted the donation from City West Water staff.

'This support really helps us during a busy time. It’s really nice to see businesses like City West Water doing good work in the community. We’re all in this together’, says Lina.

City West Water customers first

Fran Duiker is General Manager Customers and Community and oversees City West Water’s Customers First strategy, which addresses hardship and other barriers customers might face in relation to paying water bills.

Ms Duiker says, ‘City West Water understands that not everyone has steady employment or the same opportunity. This time of year can put pressure on the budget. That’s why we invest in our Customer Care programs and hardship grants to alleviate bill stress.’

Hardship grants refer to the resources made available to customers, such as options for non-payment including payment plans and actively reducing legal proceedings due to non-payment.

‘If you are experiencing hardship or need to talk about your water bill, please contact us. We have a range of support mechanisms available and can work with you to help reduce financial stress,’ says Ms Duiker.
