Media Release: World Toilet Day 2018

Fran Duiker to raise awareness about the work of WaterAid Australia both in the community and at a corporate level in the public and private sectors.

‘Can you imagine life without running water at home, or a functioning toilet? Many, many people, including right here in the Asia Pacific don’t have the same access that we do here.’ said Fran Duiker.

Fran is City West Water's General Manager Customers & Community and newly appointed WaterAid Australia Ambassador. Pictured here above on the right, alongside Rosie Wheen, Chief Executive of WaterAid Australia who is standing on the left.

Nominated as one of Victoria’s Top 50 Public Sector Women in 2018, Fran is City West Water’s General Manager of Customers and Community. Fran has become an Australian Ambassador for international not-for-profit, WaterAid, to continue her passion for helping communities in need.

WaterAid Australia is a member of WaterAid, an international not-for-profit organisation, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.

‘I’m incredibly proud to be announced as a WaterAid Ambassador on World Toilet Day. Working at City West Water, I am very aware of how vital access to water and safe sanitation is for everyone in the world. It’s a human right,’ says Fran.

‘We provide safe and reliable water and sewerage services to one million customers in Melbourne’s west and CBD, but it’s staggering to think that across the world, these basic services are a luxury for many millions of people.’
