News update: Amanda Smith awarded Victoria’s Top 50 Public Sector Women 2019
The Institute of Public Affairs Australia (Victoria) awards, which shine a light on the achievements of female leaders and aim to encourage other women in the sector, were presented at an event as part of annual Public Sector Week celebrations in Melbourne last week.
Ms Smith was recognised for her role in supporting sustainable development and community wellbeing, and her leadership skills as an inspiration to others.
City West Water Managing Director David Ryan, was excited to share the news of Ms Smith’s win.
“Amanda is passionate about the role of water utilities and government supporting sustainable development and community wellbeing and it is fantastic that this passion, that we see every day in her role, has been recognised externally through this award.”

Ms Smith joins a prestigious alumni, including previous City West Water award recipients Fran Duiker, Elisa Hunter, Maree Lang and Louise Meadows.
City West Water has a firm commitment to gender equality and lifting women’s leadership, as we work towards an aspirational target of 50% of our leadership roles to be held by women by 2020.
