Seeking Volunteers to Join Community Group
Work will soon commence on the M205 project, an essential water renewal upgrade being delivered by City West Water to ensure safe and secure water supply for Carlton, Carlton North and the inner city for years to come.
Keeping customers and stakeholders in the loop during this period will form an important part of the overall process.
In order to engage the local community, City West Water is establishing a reference group of key stakeholders, local residents, community groups and traders from the area.
General Manager Infrastructure and Delivery, Maree Lang, said the concept of an information sharing forum was a practical and simple way to ensure regular and consistent two-way communication and engagement with customers.
“We will be spending some time working in the local community and we want to make sure people are kept up to date with what we’re doing, and give community a chance to provide feedback on the works,” Ms Lang said.
“The community reference group will receive updates on how the works are progressing, but will also help us establish how we can invest in liveability projects in the local area, contributing to a positive outcome for the project and the wider community.”
The year-long project includes installing 2.3km of new pipe along Canning Street, between Faraday Street and Park Street.
Nominations to be part of the group will be accepted until Friday 31 May and successful members notified by Friday 7 June.
Meetings will be held every two months until the project is completed.
