Community sponsorship

Did you know...

  • A litre of bottled water costs the same as 9,000 glasses of tap water.
  • There is a risk that there be more plastic in the sea (by weight) than fish by 2050.

At City West Water we want everyone to know the health benefits of staying hydrated, the environmental impact of single use plastic bottles and believe drinking water shouldn't cost the earth.

That's why we are always ready to support community events, functions and programs that celebrate our vibrant community. We do this by sponsoring events (giving financial or in-kind support) like charity gatherings or sports clubs events so that they may continue to support our community across Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melbourne (north of the Yarra River), Moonee Valley, Wyndham, Yarra and parts of Melton and Hume.

Not surprisingly though, our community support is very popular.

We get lots of sponsorship applications and unfortunately cannot accept them all. So it is very important to get your application in well ahead of time.

2020

Round 1 (for community sponsorship in January – June 2020)

This sponsorship round closed in October 2019.

Round 2 (for community sponsorship in July – December 2020)

Applications will be accepted between 1 and 30 March 2020. All applications for this round will be assessed during the first week of April 2020. Applications will be notified by the second week of April 2020.

2021

Round 1 (for requests in January – June 2021)

Applications will be accepted between 1 and 31 September. All applications for this round will be assessed during the first week of October. Applications will be notified by the second week of October 2020.

Round 2 (for community sponsorship in July – December 2021)

Applications will be accepted between 1 and 30 March 2021. All applications for this round will be assessed during the first week of April 2020. Applications will be notified by the second week of April 2020.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to receive sponsorship, your event must fit into all of the following three criteria:

  1. Your event will be held in City West Water's service area.
  2. Your organisation has not-for-profit status
  3. Your event will have an opportunity to educate participants on the value of water and how to use it wisely.

How to apply

Apply online using the Community Sponsorship Application form. Complete all sections of the application or it won’t be assessed.
