Statement of obligations outline our responsibilities to government in relation to performing our functions.
They were issued by the Minister for Water under the Water Industry Act 1994 (Vic).
General Statement of Obligations
The Statement of Obligations (general) began on 20 December 2015 and applies to 19 Victorian water corporations including us.
The Minister has also issued an additional Statement of Obligations to clarify roles and responsibilities in the Melbourne water supply system.
System Management Statement of Obligations
Our additional Statement of Obligations (system management) (PDF 953 KB) commenced on 23 December 2016.
Emission Reduction Statement of Obligations
Our Statement of Obligations (emission reduction) (PDF 1.86 MB) commenced on 14 March 2018.
Additional to our Statement of Obligations, our business is regulated by the Essential Services Commission (ESC). They approve our service standards and prices every five years in what is called a Water Plan. The current Water Plan operates from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2018.
As part of the process for determining our Water Plan service standards and pricing, we conduct research and seek to support business cases for activities to help deliver services for our community. We seek feedback from our Customers and Stakeholders and more generally from our community about their support or willingness to pay for activities or improved services.
The Final Determination for our current Water Plan is available from the ESC’s website.
