CAD Operator

Duties and responsibilities

Computer Aided Design (CAD) drafters and designers combine creative ideas and technical skills using CAD software to develop plans for new water and sewerage services. A City West Water CAD operator gets to:

  • Produce drawings for civil, mechanical and electrical works
  • Provide design and technical support services for water supply sewerage and recycled water projects
  • Produce presentation drawings, wall maps and illustrations
  • Update the Geographic Information System (GIS) with as constructed water and sewerage system data
  • Produce standard and typical drawings

Experience gained

  • Production of civil, mechanical and electrical drawings associated with design of civil infrastructure and presentation drawings
  • A detailed knowledge of drafting standards, AutoCAD systems and data file management.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and other drafting packages such as MapInfo.
  • Design of water supply reticulation and sewerage reticulation to the requirements of City West Water and the relevant Codes and Standards.
