Duties and responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for the project management of maintenance programs like:

Asset Performance Technical Officer
  • Valve and hydrant maintenance
  • Sewer vent maintenance
  • Sewer closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection
  • Leak Detection

These programs ensure that City West Water's water and sewerage assets meet required performance levels and provide information so that we can understand the condition of our assets.

  • The project management of maintenance programs involves:
  • Planning and scheduling works
  • Dealing with contractors undertaking the works
  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress
  • Managing budget requirements
  • Delivering project outcomes

Various City West Water systems are used including GIS, FOCUS, Hansen and Finance 1.

Career progression

Asset Performance Technical Officer

Upon qualification and rotation, you can move into a particular technical officer role. With further experience and competencies, you could eventually move into a senior technical officer role or managerial position.
