In October 2007, we upgraded our Finance 1 application suite to the latest supported version called Technology One Financials Ci (Connected Intelligence).
New systems make number-crunching easier
The upgrade was consistent with the City West Water .Net technology architecture platform as it allowed automatic deployment of solutions across our organisation and supported future projects.
Key factors in our decision to upgrade were to:
- integrate financial data entry and reporting into one application (these were previously separate)
- benefit from an integrated solution that allows additional modules to be added as required
- allow the Works and Assets module to be added to help us manage and report on capital works projects
- enable us to work in enhanced real time with online reporting and drill down functionality to individual transactions.
The upgrade has also made the interface a lot more user-friendly. The customisable, web-styled workspace lets the user tailor the desktop to suit their specific job role and requirements. It can also display workflow task alerts, graphical and table report data.
Feedback on the new software from our employees has been very positive. And because of its ease-of-use, minimal training and education has been required to bring our staff up to speed in the new system.
