Management System Certification

Did you know?

We have a wide range of customers from residents to large businesses.

Sustainability Indicator:
Management System Certification

Commitment:
To retain certification of the following systems:

- Environmental Management System – ISO14001
- Quality Management System ISO9001
- Water Quality Management System – HACCP
- Occupational Health and Safety Management System – AS/NZS4801

These systems provide the framework for achieving our business objectives and regulatory compliance, and also ensure that the business is operated in a prudent and efficient manner and that continuous improvement is a part of the way we operate.

How we’ve performed:
All four certifications had an annual surveillance audit during 2007-08 and all certifications were retained, as they were in the previous two years.

In addition, we were awarded both Quality and OH&S certifications for the Altona Treatment Plant after certification audits in August 2007.

A new database has been built and will be released for use by the end of 2008.  The new database, which is a replacement for the existing QES (Quality, Environment and Safety) database, has the primary function of electronically managing business-wide processes and related documents which are required to support the four current certified management system. It will also link with the new Risk Manager database to facilitate risk ranking of procedures so that internal audits of these documents are scheduled based on priority.

Looking ahead:
Our aim is to retain certification for all four systems during 2008-09.

A new database has been developed which will improve the management of the company’s management system related documents.
