Unplanned water supply interruptions (as at 30 June 2008)

Commitment:
To provide a service standard of no more than 250 customers experiencing more than five unplanned water supply interruptions in a 12-month period. If this occurs we will pay customers $25 each time they experience more than five unplanned interruptions in 12-months, as part of our Guaranteed Service Level (GSL) system.

Information about the calculations above: the figure of 106 is the number of customers as at 30 June 2008. During the year, a total of 221 customers at some stage had experienced more than 5 unplanned interruptions which equates to a payment of $5,525. The difference occurs because the indicator is measured on a twelve month rolling figure, and during the year some of the 221 customers had dropped off the 12 month rolling total, thus giving us a total at 30 June of 106.

Looking ahead:
This indicator will continue to be a key focus of our management and renewals programs. Daily system monitoring will be continued to ensure interruptions are identified quickly and the asset is renewed or other measures are put in place to rectify the situation as soon as possible. The 2008-09 target we will be working to is 75.9 minutes.
