Work is entering its final stages along Grattan Street and Flemington Road.

Water main connection works are entering their final stage at the junction of Flemington Road and Grattan Street, North Melbourne.

95% of the works on Flemington Road and Grattan Street are complete as we renew 100 year old water mains in the area.

Boring works in Flemington Road have been completed.

The remaining works will be the final connections from new mains to existing mains near the Haymarket Roundabout, Intersection of Wreckyn Street and Courtney Street and Grattan Street.

All works are expected to complete by 16 December 2016.

Working hours:

Flemington Road and Grattan Street:

Sunday to Thursday: 9pm to 5am

Weekdays: 9am to 3.30pm

Weekends: 7.30am to 4pm.

Wreckyn Street/ Courtney Street:  8pm to 5am (these night works will take approximately one week to complete and will include road closure at the intersection. Detours will be in-place and works will start after the last bus along Wreckyn Street to Grattan Street).

Changes to traffic and parking, along with night works, haven't been a lot of fun for local residents. However, the renewal works are really important to prevent bursts and water outages, as well as providing quality and efficient water to all local residents.
