City West Water is proud to announce staff member Elisa Hunter, Project Director of Urban Water Strategies, has received a scholarship aimed at increasing diversity in Victoria’s water workplaces.

Elisa will complete the Peter Cullen Trust - Women in Water Leadership program, a new program for Victoria in 2016.

Currently only one in 20 leaders in the water utility sector are female so the Women in Water Leadership program, based on the Science-to-Policy Leadership Program, has been developed at the request of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP)

The Victorian Government wants to increase diversity across all sectors, and this new leadership program demonstrates DELWP’s commitment to this aim.

The two session program will focus on building personal leadership skills, gaining knowledge on how to be a successful leader in the water and catchment sector, and understanding how to personally create more flexible workplaces. It also includes a major group project that develops collaborative and integrated thinking on a major issue of relevance.

Elisa’s selection for this leadership program means that the Peter Cullen Trust, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and City West Water believe she has the capacity to greatly benefit others. This investment in her development is significant.
