Increased watering flexibility from 2 April with Stage 3 - target 155 to remain

On 16 March 2010 the Premier announced an easing of water restrictions across metro Melbourne - from Stage 3a to Stage 3.

For households this will mean:
• garden watering will move to an odds and evens, date-based approach
• odd properties may water on odd dates; even or no numbered properties may water on even dates
• watering times remain unchanged and watering lawns remains prohibited
• Target 155 will remain to encourage households to continue saving water.
