Executive Management Committee

Our business is managed by an Executive Management Committee, which consists of the Managing Director and five General Managers. The Executive Management Committee oversees policy implementations, the day-to-day management of our people, and the delivery of services to our customers.

Anne Barker - Managing Director

Appointed as Managing Director in 2002, Anne is responsible for overarching the management and strategic direction of City West Water. As the only Executive Director in the organisation, Anne reports to the City West Water Board.

Geoff Gardiner - General Manager, Service Sustainability

Geoff is responsible for ensuring City West Water meets its water conservation and salt reduction targets and environmental commitments, as well as managing the company’s customer interfaces. Geoff’s team manages interactions with all customer segments, including residential, industrial and commercial, and trade waste. Geoff's team also undertake community engagement and corporate communications and marketing activities, and oversees vital work with commercial customers to maximise efficiency of water, sewerage and trade waste services.

Matthew Giesemann - General Manager, Engineering

Matthew is responsible for asset management, research and development and infrastructure planning. Operationally, Matthew’s team manages the maintenance function, standards and design and asset information, and oversees drinking water quality.

Sean Crees - General Manager, Regulation and Reform

Sean manages City West Water’s regulatory responsibilities, including pricing, regulatory structures, Government relations, bulk water entitlements and agreements with Melbourne Water.

Stephen Robertson - General Manager, Corporate Services

Stephen is responsible for City West Water’s strategic planning and legal and governance functions, including legal services, quality systems, risk management, internal audits and corporate and strategic planning. Stephen oversees the organisation’s financial functions, including finance strategy, financial reporting and auditing, tax and treasury, and billing and credit management. Stephen is also responsible for City West Water’s human resources and payroll functions and information services.

Sam Torre - General Manager, Water Solutions

Sam is responsibile for City West Water’s recycled water operations, as well as connections and metering services, land development and town planning local council liaison. Sam’s team also manages developer and builder services.
