How long do I need to commit for?
Commitment can vary from a two-week unit of work to ongoing referral. Commitment is negotiable within the program and the school.
How do I become accredited in the program?
The Water – Learn it! Live it! officer in your service area will record your achievement of each of the milestones. Once your school has completed all the milestones in the bronze, silver or gold categories, you will become an accredited Water – Learn it! Live it! school for 12 months.
What happens once the school is accredited?
After completion of milestones, schools will receive Water – Learn it! Live it! exterior signage and use of logos for marketing material for 12 months. After schools achieve bronze or silver accreditations, they can work towards the next category of accreditation.
What support will the school receive?
Schools that commit to the program will receive ongoing support from the Water – Learn it! Live it! officer based at City West Water. This includes:
- Professional development sessions for teachers to assist them with curriculum development and knowledge of water related issues.
- A range of incursions that can be run at the school.
- Support with planning and tailoring the program to suit the needs of the school.
