In addition to having a highly protected drinking water suppply, City West Water undertakes rigorous water quality monitoring to ensure that our customers continue to receive safe, high quality water.
The water is tested daily at many locations throughout the distribution network by an independant, government accredited testing laboratory. Most of the monitoring involves checking the quality of water at customers' properties.
The quallity of the water is assessed against requirements in City West Water's operating licence. These relate to microbiological water quality standards based on levels of E.coli and total coliform bacteria, as well as levels of health related parameters (such as heavy metals).
Test results show that our drinking water consistently meets and surpasses these requirements, indicating that it is safe and of a very high standard.
