Water Cycle in Action
In this hands-on activity, students will build their own terrarium and observe the different stages of the water cycle. Students will also experience an interactive presentation about water on earth, water conservation and the water cycle. This activity is suitable for years 3-8 and lasts for 1 hour.| VELS |

Water Saver Badge Making
Students can proudly show their commitment to water conservation by making their own water saver badge. Students will make up their own water saver slogan and develop a design showing how they save water. They will be the envy of their peers as they show off their water saver fashion accessory. This activity is suitable for years P-4 and lasts for 1 hour.| VELS |

Urban Water Cycle Relay
Students will act out the urban water cycle as a relay and discover how water is used by different groups in Melbourne. They will also explore ways of conserving our precious water resources.This activity is suitable for years 3-8 and lasts for 1 hour.

City West Water can provide presentations on various aspects of water use and treatment and can be adapted to the needs of students. Topics may include:

- Melbourne’s water cycle

- Alternative water supplies
- Water and Society Presentations can be adapted according to the age group and needs of students.

Excursions
Discovery Centre & Western Treatment Plant Tours
In order to assist schools within our service area, we are offering to cover the cost of education programs at the Western Treatment Plant. This may include activities in the Water Discovery Centre and/or tours of the plant site. Students explore the water cycle from catchment to coast. They find out where Melbourne’s water comes from, how it's treated and recycled.
Primary Schools (Grade 3 - 6)
This offer is available for 60 students per school during 2007.Secondary Schools
This offer is available for 70 students per school during 2007.
