Biodiversity Protection

Biosite MapCity West Water’s vision is to be a truly sustainable water business.  For us, sustainability means balancing our social, environmental and economic responsibilities.  Our Environmental Policy outlines how we seek to meet our environmental responsibilities, including a commitment to biodiversity protection to ensure our operations are carried out in a manner which will protect nature’s balance.

We also seek to encourage our stakeholders and the community to consider their impact on the environment and biodiversity.  As such, CWW has provided a Biosites map (PDF 4MB) which outlines areas of land or water in the CWW licence area containing biological assets with particular attributes such as the presence of rare or threatened flora, fauna or habitats.

CWW advises that local councils and Department of Sustainability and Environment play a significant role in managing biodiversity issues and it may be advisable to contact the relevant authority for your area when planning new developments that may impact on biodiversity.
