City West Water’s vision is to be a truly sustainable water business. For us, sustainability means balancing our social, environmental and economic responsibilities.
This Environmental Sustainability Plan (ESP) sets our objectives and targets to enhance our sustainability by improving our environmental performance over the two years from July 2006 to June 2008.
To achieve these goals, the plan sets two types of targets:
- Principal targets - focused on making a significant jump forward in our environmental sustainability over the two year period of the plan
- Operational targets - focused on continual improvement of the environmental performance of our day to day operations.
Although the plan focuses on the above strategic goals, it has been developed in a manner that balances these programs with our other social and economic objectives to enhance our overall sustainability.
The ESP has been developed in consultation with our Community Liaison Committee made up of members representing a wide range of organisations, interest groups and individuals across the company's operating region.
