Water Consumption

We are committed to meeting the Victorian Government’s target of reducing water consumption by 15% per person by 2010, which will help to ensure a sustainable water supply for Melbourne. Following is a table that outlines the percentage of water that is used by our residential customers and commercial/industrial customers. This is also a Sustainability Indicator and results can be viewed here.

Unaccounted-For Water

Unaccounted-for water is water that we do not bill customers and is made up of water that is lost through leaks and bursts in our system, used for fire fighting or lost through illegal or unmetered connections. Click here for information on this Sustainability Indicator.
