Introduction

This is City West Water’s sixth Sustainability Report. It details our sustainability performance for the 2005–06 financial year and is based on Sustainability Indicators, which measure economic, environmental and social factors across our business.

It has been prepared in accordance with the 2002 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and applies the principles of materiality, completeness and responsiveness embodied in the AA1000 Assurance Standard. A GRI index has been included with this report and can be found here.

This year our full Sustainability Report is only available as an interactive version on our website and we believe this in itself is a sustainable way to present this information. A summary version is available in hardcopy with a CD-Rom attached, incorporating the full website report. It can be ordered here.

We are committed to honestly reporting our performance and providing this information to stakeholders. In producing this report we aim to raise awareness both internally and externally about where we are making progress towards sustainability and where improvements can be made.
